WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Kettle
Coffee
Water
French Press
Timer
Stirring Tool
Measuring Spoon
Your favourite coffee cup
BARISTA & CO RECOMMEND
“For best flavour we recommend using freshly ground coffee of medium to coarse grind.
If you are using 350 grams of water, you will want 30 grams of coffee.”
BREW TIME
4 minutes
METHOD
STEP 1
Preheat the French Press with boiling water, leave to stand for a moment on a flat non-slip surface, remove the water then add the coffee.
STEP 2
Ensure the straining device is fully removed, measure your ground coffee and spoon into the base of the jug.
STEP 3
To prevent burning, and spoiling the coffee, you’ll need to allow your freshly boiled water to cool. Don’t despair, 3-4 minutes is all you’ll need to wait!
Once cooled, add half of the required water and allow the coffee to bloom for 20 seconds, add the remaining water ensuring you cover all the coffee grounds before stirring to release flavour.
STEP 4
After 4 minutes place the lid firmly back on top of the French Press and plunge downwards in one slow steady motion.
*Top Tip* – do not apply excessive pressure as you will find the grounds may escape into the filtered liquid.
STEP 5
Now that your home is filled with the beautiful aroma of coffee, pick out your favourite mug, simply pour, add milk or sugar to taste then sit back and enjoy!
ENJOY!
